If we saw that in other countries, we also have our own share of those calamities. Who would ever forget the damages caused by typhoon Ondoy that left many Filipino families in Metro Manila homeless?
At the local level, Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental and the neighboring cities and provinces were not spared. The heavy flooding in the first quarter of 2009 was something Cagayanons and Misamisnons never expected. It was the first time that the city experienced a heavy flooding like that.

sweet, sweet dreams gone away in the moonless night you chose to stay the skies were blue, the starts not so bright wallowing me cold, shuddering to fight.
gone, gone sweet words of wisdom the strong current of life wringing me down O life, where art thou going, where am I? leave me to where my heart is, be kind.
despair not, O love of my desire cast another glance, this we have to bear listen to the unspeakable words, the silent feeling hidden in the bosom of life, waiting.

The list includes something like: you are a Filipino if you point with your lips… if you nod upwards to greet someone… if you smile for no reason at all. The list runs up to 101…

Peace on Earth! Peace for the world!
God will send the world a bird
The bird was a dove
As a symbol of his love
Spirits sail! Spirits sail!
God will send the world a mail
He wrote: “The peace had begun”
Because there is something good we have done
